The Falcon Manor Hotel

A grade 2 listed building former rectory the hotel has been tastefully furnished to create a warm friendly environment.Log fires in the public bar stunning views from the cocktail bar restaurant offering exceptionally high standards of international cuisine and comfort. The nineteen bedrooms all strictly non smoking are individually furnished five with four poster beds. All bedrooms are En suite. Facilities include direct dial telephones radio colour TV tea and coffee making facilities trouser press and hair drier.Situated in the fringe of the Yorkshire Dales National Park The Falcon Manor is an ideal base from which to explore the enchanting scenery of the surrounding Craven Hills Herriot Country Lake District and Lancashire Coast. It is an excellent centre for walkers motorists and railway enthusiasts with the Settle Carlisle railway nearby. Settle itself is a fine example of a typical bustling Dales market town which has lost none of its charm. Its market place is a short walk from the hotel.The Falcon Manor as we know it today was built in 1841 for the Reverend Swale with money provided by his two grandmothers who made an agreement with the church to donate 500.00 to the new Settle church if their grandson could be the first incumbent. Until this date Settle had been a part of the parish of Giggleswick. The Falcon Manor was not built as a vicarage as such but as a private dwelling for the Reverend Swale. At the time it was built it was named Ingfield Hall after the field it was built upon. It is not certain when the name changed to The Falcon but it was not until after 1921Settle a bustling market town in one of the most scenic areas of the Yorkshire Dales. Settle is well known world wide as the starting point of the Settle Carlisle Railway and as a gateway to the Three Peaks of Penyghent Whernside and Ingleborough.
